About this reflection and its limits
This original Good Works tool is theory-informed, not validated. It reflects choices in hypothetical situations and two recalled moments, not competence, personality, or effectiveness. It should not be used for hiring, promotion, or performance ratings.
The four coaching moves are Curiosity, Clarity, Care, and Accountability. These are distinct from the leadership roles Direct, Advise, Mentor, and Coach. Grounded presence supports all four. Content is informed by the ICF coaching competencies and Self-Determination Theory. Neither organization has endorsed or validated this tool.
There is no right-answer key or overall score. Each scenario response contributes one count to its main emphasis. The last option is excluded. A primary move is shown only with at least six specific scenario responses and at least three selections of the uniquely most-selected move. Tied leaders are shown as joint most-selected moves. A secondary move must be uniquely next most-selected and selected at least twice. Ties remain ties; we do not create a combined profile from a single answer. A combined interpretation is shown only with a primary and a secondary move. These are conservative display rules, not validated cutoffs. Choosing one response limits the opportunity to choose another, so the counts are not independent skill measures.
Scenarios do not remove social desirability or recall bias. Independent content review and participant testing are still pending. Changes across repeat visits should not be interpreted as evidence of growth.
